The Montafon is surrounded by mountain ranges: The Verwall Mountains lie to the northeast, the limestone cliffs of the Rätikon can be marvelled at to the northwest and the partly glaciated Silvretta to the south. Against this imposing backdrop, it is easy to gather new strength. Nature offers year-round adventures and thanks to the local hospitality, guests of all ages feel at home in the region.
The mountain railways also take you up high in summer - whether for a leisurely hike or to the summit. On the adventure mountain Golm there is a lot to discover for young and old, e.g. the largest climbing garden in Vorarlberg, a forest slide park and Flying Fox for an adrenaline kick.
One thing counts above all else on a winter holiday: snow! In the Montafon there are usually optimal conditions at snow-sure heights. In addition to the well-known Silvretta Montafon, the ski areas of Gargellen, Golm, Kristberg and Silvretta-Bielerhöhe can be found there. Local initiatives for more sustainability in winter sports (such as a photovoltaic chairlift) ensure that the Montafon is Austria's first climate-neutral ski area.
