THE SUITCASE OF PROFESSIONS

An orientation tool to get to know the world of work and the hotel industry in particular.

"La Valigia delle Professioni - Alla scoperta del settore alberghiero con Falkensteiner" (The Suitcase of Professions - Discovering the hotel industry with Falkensteiner) is a free educational project promoted by Falkensteiner Hotels & Residences, devised and managed by Neways, a communications company specialising in Educational Campaigns. The hotels taking part in the initiative are the Falkensteiner Club Funimation Garden Calabria, the Falkensteiner Family Resort Lido, the Falkensteiner Resort Capo Boi and the Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Jesolo.

The initiative is dedicated to male and female secondary school students for the second term of the school year 2022-2023. The educational path is to be considered an orientation tool: the teaching focuses on the development and deepening of the concept of profession and role, delving into sectors of the economy and highlighting some professional figures in the tourist-hotel sector, indicating skills, studies and experience needed to cover the various tasks.

This didactic journey through four beautiful Italian regions, promoted by Falkensteiner Hotels & Residences, aims to stimulate teachers and pupils through some very interesting information and study materials:

TEACHING SHEETS

The didactics of this project promoted by Falkensteiner Hotels & Residences focus on techniques for enhancing the different aptitudes of individual students, determining the macro-categories of professions and deepening knowledge about the tourism-hotel sector. 
Below is a preview of the brochure's contents:  

  • l Character Strengths and Virtues: the 6 virtues and 24 strengths 
  • The meaning of role declined in the professional sphere
  • The sectors of the economy: primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary 
  • Specific focus on the tertiary sector: the most developed in Italy
  • The tourist-hotel sector 
  • The main figures in the tourist-hotel sector

THE FANTASTIC STUDENT CONTEST

The students, with the support of the teacher, are invited to create an artistic essay on the topics addressed, which offers the class the opportunity to win fantastic prizes.
OUTLINE ELABORATION 1 
Together with your classmates, create a comic strip of up to 8 cartoons entitled "Hotel what an adventure!". Identify yourself as one of the professionals in a hotel and imagine a short adventure for your protagonist. Is it a creative chef struggling with a complicated menu or a receptionist who has to accommodate a Martian in his rooms? Let your imagination run wild and invent a fun adventure! 
TRACK ASSIGNMENT 2 
Together with your classmates, use the collage or mosaic technique to create a poster with the hotel sector as a reference. Design and create, for example, a futuristic hotel room, a breakfast room full of delicacies or a colourful reception! Let your imagination run wild!

Send us your final poster!

Participating is very simple! By 21 April 2023, the teacher simply has to take a photo of the entry created by the class or individual pupil representing the class and send the images to lavaligiadelleprofessioni@progettididattici.it.

BEAUTIFUL SCHOOL PRIZES

By 5 May 2023, all the entries will be assessed by a Jury, which will select the best entry based on the following criteria: relevance to the outline, creativity, difficulty of realisation, also taking into account the age of the pupils. 
The winning class will receive 26 FALKENSTEINER HOTELS & RESIDENCES VOUCHERS FOR THE PUPILS AND THE TEACHER, and the school will receive 1 VOUCHER OF €500 FOR THE PURCHASE OF TECHNOLOGICAL AND EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL.
