Bratislava Castle

The castle was mentioned in records from Salzburg as early as 907 AD. Built by the Slavs, the fortress became an important centre of the Great Moravian Empire. The fortress was renovated between 1953 and 1968 and part of the castle now serves as a presentation area for the Slovak National Council, while another part houses part of the collection of the Slovak National Museum and the Historical Museum.
