Wine tasting
Herrenhof Lamprecht in Markt Hartmannsdorf, a former estate of Vorau Abbey, was revitalised by Gottfried Lamprecht. Since 2006, the Lamprecht family has been cultivating vines on the old sunny vineyards of the Buchertberg, without artificial fertilisers, herbicides or synthetic pesticides.
The 11-hectare vineyard is the largest contiguous area in the Vulkanland Steiermark wine-growing region. The Buchertberg produces an outstanding Gemischter Satz from over 30 different grape varieties, some of which are very old. The natural wines are produced slowly and gently through spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels and bottled unfiltered.
