The Grießbacher vineyard covers an area of around 6.5 hectares in the picturesque Styrian volcanic region. In addition to the white wine varieties typical of the region, Blauer Zweigelt and Merlot also thrive here.

Josef Grießbacher lives for his wines and spends most of his time in the vineyards. But when it comes to the final tuning in the wine cellar, the fine palate of his wife Karin is also in demand. Over the years, it has become clear that the best wines are produced when the two of them are in agreement.

Thanks to the proximity of the vineyards, the grapes can be processed quickly at harvest - a significant advantage, especially during the often still hot weeks of harvest, in order to optimise the treatment of the mash. After the harvest, the wines are given the time they need to mature in peace in steel tanks.
