The Weissensee can be described as a paradise for skating fans because it is the largest prepared natural ice rink in the world! On an ice-skating rink of up to 25 km in length, skating freedom can be enjoyed like hardly anywhere else, and an ice-guarantee ensures this every winter. For a unique natural feeling, the magnificent panoramic view of mountains and forests lends a sporty day on the Weissensee a very special atmosphere.

In the winter months, the beautiful mountains of Carinthia invite you to go skiing. Perfectly groomed slopes and trails guarantee beginners and experts alike an unforgettable pleasure amidst idyllic snowscapes. From Schlosshotel Velden you can reach over 400 beautiful snow-covered slopes in a short drive. We are happy to arrange your transfer to the ski resort and, of course, will take care of the safe transport and accommodation of your equipment. 

A variety of bike paths of varying difficulty lead around the Carinthian lakes, through sunny valleys and cool forest areas. Just climb, enjoy nature and free your mind! At the Falkensteiner Schlosshotel Velden you have the opportunity to try out the latest e-bikes from ‘Bärenbikes’ and explore Carinthia in comfort on two wheels.

In summer, the Wörthersee with its picturesque beaches and excellent water quality invites you to swim and relax. If you don't want to just relax, you can choose between a wide variety of water sports such as sailing, diving or windsurfing. For our guests who would like to experience a sporty adventure, we can also arrange white water rafting, canyoning or water skiing.

It's always time for a round of golf. Whatever the weather, you can play some of the world's most famous courses, including Royal Portrush, Innisbrook, Muirfield Village, Albany, PGA National and the four legendary St Andrews Links Courses, using the TrackMan© 4 simulator in the Golf Simulator at the Schlosshotel. If you are a beginner who wants to learn to play or an amateur golfer who wants to improve your game, our PGA Professional Martin Dewhurst is also available for golf lessons.
